The creative concept is built around a distinctive hybrid style: real footage of the location combined with hand-drawn characters that guide the audience through the world. The illustrations were created by the talented illustrator Sarah-Lisa Hleb, while Al Gaivoto brought them to life with classic 2D animation. These characters do much more than decorate the film. They add humor, movement, and a recognizable identity that gives the project its signature tone.

A key part of the concept was consistency across channels. The same illustrated world continues beyond the video and reappears in menu artwork and social media visuals. This creates a coherent brand experience across touchpoints and helps Hafenstadt feel like a place with its own visual language.

Instead of producing a generic city promo, we focused on a crafted, modern look. Authentic light, real spaces, natural movement, and a playful graphic layer come together to show the district in a fresh and memorable way. The combination of film production, illustration, and 2D animation makes the communication both approachable and distinctive.

The result is a film that positions Hafenstadt as a contemporary urban destination: energetic, creative, social, and full of character. It invites people to discover the area, spend time by the water, and experience the atmosphere for themselves.
